ISDE

ISDE is a grant scheme for business users and private homeowners who invest in energy-saving assets. Business users can apply for ISDE grants for investments in heat pumps, solar water heaters, and small-scale wind turbines. For private homeowners, ISDE grants are available for a heat pump, a solar water heater, various insulation measures, a connection to a district heating network, and an electric cooking facility.

By investing in sustainable energy, the ISDE scheme contributes to achieving the goals of the Energy Agreement. Business users who may be eligible for ISDE grant include, for example: companies, housing associations, associations, homeowners’ associations, governments and private landlords. ISDE grant can be applied for for these business users prior to the investment order in heat pumps, solar boilers or small-scale wind turbines. If they qualify for the ISDE scheme, a grant decision will be issued.

The grant amount for which you are eligible is highly dependent on the brand, type and thermal capacity of the device and is generally approximately 20% of the investment amount.

The joint budget for the ISDE grant 2026 is € 500 million.

Be aware! There are also other grant schemes with a direct contribution, such as the Accelerated Climate Investment Industry (VEKI). There are also grants that provide a tax advantage, such as the Energy Investment Deduction (EIA) and the Environmental Investment Deduction (MIA) . For private homeowners, the ISDE grant can be applied for after making an investment in a heat pump, a solar water heater, various insulation measures, a connection to a district heating network, and an electric cooking facility. This applies to the primary residence of the homeowner (commercial landlords fall under business users).

If the ISDE grant application demonstrates that eligible equipment has been installed, the ISDE grant amount will be deposited into the account. Here too, the amount depends on the equipment in which the investment is made.

An overview of the types of investments that are generally eligible for the ISDE scheme:

• Heat pumps: Grant for the purchase of air-water heat pumps, ground-water heat pumps, water-water heat pumps and hybrid heat pumps that are used for space heating or for the combination of space heating and hot tap water;
• Solar boilers: Grant for the purchase of solar boiler systems that use solar heat to heat water, which can contribute to the reduction of the use of gas or electricity for hot water supplies;
• Biomass boilers and pellet stoves: This category has been removed from the scheme in some cases, but in the past biomass boilers and pellet stoves that met certain emission requirements were eligible for a grant;
• Connection to a heating network: Private individuals can receive a grant for the costs incurred for connecting to a heating network, which can be a sustainable alternative to individual heating systems;
• Insulation measures: For private home owners, the ISDE can also offer grants for insulation measures, such as roof insulation, cavity wall insulation, floor insulation, facade insulation and high-efficiency glass;
• Ventilation with heat recovery: In some cases, investments in ventilation systems with heat recovery (WTW) may also be eligible for a grant.

As a seller of an energy-saving product or material, you can continuously submit a proposal for the relevant list of the ISDE grant. We can advise on this or submit the full proposal.

The ISDE is a multi-year scheme that runs until 2030. Applications are possible from January 3 to December 31, 2026.
