Public funding goes to the teams that do the work in the right order. Ambition is rarely the problem. We run the same route on every project, built on 25 years of experience. Nothing is improvised and nothing is left to the deadline.

Six stages: Screen · Position · Apply · Deliver · Account · Audit

Six stages from idea to audit

  1. Most eligible funding is missed here, before a single form is opened. We read your plans and budgets, talk to your R&D and policy people where it helps, and map every relevant programme against what you are actually building.

    Your role

Share the plan. Sit with us over the shortlist and decide what to pursue.

    You leave with

A prioritised overview of the funding that fits, with a clear recommendation on the strongest-fit programmes.

You know which funding is worth pursuing, before you invest time in it.

  2. A strong project aimed at the wrong programme is a rejection waiting to happen. We align each initiative to the scheme it can actually win, set the timeline and the budget approach, and give you a single point of contact. For teams running several funding streams, we set a fixed appointment structure and build the funding knowledge into your people.

    Your role

    Confirm priorities and timing.

    You leave with

A funding route: the programme, the timeline, the budget approach, and a named owner.

The route is agreed before the writing begins.

  3. Applications fail on administrative complexity, thin narratives, and budgets that do not meet the programme rules, not on weak ideas. We build the project plan, the schedule, and the budget to the requirements, request every missing attachment, and write the narrative against what the evaluator actually assesses.

    Your role

Give the technical input. Approve the final version.

    You leave with

A competitive, compliant, submitted application: the narrative, the schedule, the budget, and the completed forms.

A complete application, built to the rules and submitted on time.

  4. The decision arrives, the work begins, and the conditions start to bite. This is where it is decided whether the funding value stays with you. We run the project administratively and organisationally, facilitate the partners, keep every deadline, and draft the reports and records. Where capacity is needed, we second experienced grant and programme managers into the team.

    Your role

Deliver the work. We carry the administrative load.

    You leave with

A coordinated, compliant project, delivered on time, with partners aligned.

You focus on the work. We keep the funding conditions met.

  5. The money arrives at different points: in advance, in instalments as the work runs, or only here. What secures it either way is proof. We report as you go, so the financial and substantive progress is always in front of you, and prepare the final accountability that leads to the definitive determination.

    Your role

Keep the records flowing. Approve the reports.

    You leave with

Accurate interim and final reports, a proof of use that stands up, and the definitive determination.

The funding body accepts the reporting, and the funding is confirmed as yours.

  6. Not every project is audited. But you cannot know in advance which one will be, so we build every project as if it will be. Documentation is kept audit-ready from the first stage rather than assembled at the deadline. If an audit is called, we prepare it and stand beside you through it.

    Your role

Little, if the records were kept along the way.

    You leave with

Documentation ready for scrutiny, and the capital you earned retained in full.

If an audit comes, you are prepared, and you pass it.

What counts as research and development

Where development is contracted out, particular rules apply. In contract research we watch the correct allocation of costs so that eligibility is preserved.

What we commit to

Three commitments run through every stage. We make them on every project and hold them from the first conversation to the final report, not just at the end.

Quality

We know how to set up and write an application so it succeeds: grounded in evidence and written to what the evaluator assesses. Proven by a 95 percent success rate.

Compliance

The conditions set by the funding body are met from award to final report, protecting the value that is most often lost after approval.

Audit readiness

Records kept in order from the first stage, not assembled at the deadline, so scrutiny finds a project that was always ready for it.

Beyond one project

Feasibility, first-of-a-kind demonstration, scale-up and capital investment each call for a different instrument. We match the programme to the growth moment you are in, and keep matching as you move.

FAQs about our process

View all FAQs

As early as possible, ideally before contracts are signed or orders placed. Many instruments are no longer available after that point, even where the project itself qualifies.

That depends on the instrument. Grants are usually paid after approval and drawdown, tax-based instruments take effect through the tax assessment, and subsidised loans through the financing terms. We tell you at the outset when the support actually affects liquidity.

We look at the reasoning and assess whether reworking makes sense or whether another instrument fits better. Rejection frequently comes down to the presentation or the choice of programme rather than the project.

Yes. We start with a stocktake: what the award decision says, which conditions are running, which deadlines are open and where the gaps in the documentation are.

That depends on the project, the scale of funding and the model chosen. For the Forschungszulage we work entirely on a success basis.
