The Dutch technology company INUTEQ helps people keep a comfortable temperature at all times with innovative cooling technologies and clothing. “Our goal is to make cooling clothing as self-evident as a raincoat,” says Eric Pellis, co-owner and director of INUTEQ. “Thanks to our focus on both the industrial sector and elite sport, we can develop products that improve performance and increase safety in the workplace.”

Today INUTEQ’s products are available in more than 50 countries and are used in the most demanding environments, from Formula 1 to the building site. This dual focus on performance and safety is the driving force behind continuous innovation and the company’s success.

‘’In elite sport, temperature regulation is enormously important, because every second can make the difference,’’ Eric explains. ‘’These days almost every Formula 1 team uses INUTEQ’s cooling vests. But the company’s impact reaches much further: ProCycling teams, MotoGP riders, national football and hockey teams and Olympic delegations rely on INUTEQ’s cooling products to perform better and recover faster.’’

INUTEQ’s cooling products also help on the shop floor. ‘’Heat stress is a major problem in a range of sectors, with many health problems and even fatalities every year. That is why we develop technologies that improve thermal comfort, reduce accidents and increase productivity,’’ Eric continues. ‘’The products are used successfully in road and civil construction, by the fire service, in factories, and in defence and policing. During the pandemic, for example, the cooling vests helped surgical and care staff, wrapped in heavy protective clothing, to do their work safely and effectively.’’

The urge to innovate led to countless projects, among them the development of the INUTEQ-PAC® products, the first 100% biobased certified Phase Change Material (PCM) on the market. This smart material stores heat and releases it when needed, so that the wearer always keeps a comfortable temperature. Delivering innovative projects of this kind takes a great deal of time and financial resources.

Eric stresses that INUTEQ’s focus had to be entirely on technology development and sales. “That is why Ignite Group was brought in as a funding partner. They can take away the complex tasks and the high pressure of the WBSO. I only have to supply the necessary documents and Ignite Group takes care of the rest. It gives us the freedom to focus on technology development and on selling our products.”
