As a consultant at Ignite Group, Ruben is part of the Public Team. He studied in Flanders at Hasselt University, where he obtained a BSc and MSc in Business Administration and an MSc in Applied Economics. Driven by his passion for the public sector, Ruben specialized in policy economics, giving him extensive knowledge of how public institutions operate. His experience within two Dutch municipalities and two Flemish government agencies has further strengthened his skills.

During his studies, he first encountered the topic of subsidies, which immediately fascinated him. At Ignite Group, he combines this passion with his knowledge of public institutions to primarily support municipalities within the funding landscape. His generalist background and character allow him to be involved in all aspects of the subsidy field. Driven by impact creation, he focuses on incoming funding, with a particular interest in the economic and physical domain. Additionally, he leverages his policy and political expertise to support public organizations in managing outgoing subsidies, with a strong emphasis on reassessing their own policies.
